Have you ‘herd’ the news? Clarendon Square is bringing a host of fun to the town with Hyde Holiday Camp, a free and super exciting kids’ club, which launches in a few days’ time with a farm theme.
Every Thursday, from this week until August 29, young ones are invited to take part in interactive activities, games, entertainment and more from 11am until 3pm at each session.
It’s all the fun of the farm for the debut event, with life-like animatronic animals, a farmyard set and storytelling to ‘a-moo-se’ children and their families. Visitors will also be able to plant seeds in the vegetable patch and enjoy arts and crafts.
Get ready for a traditional treat, with seaside shenanigans on August 15 including a puppet show and a giant deckchair for striking a pose on. Children can write a postcard telling all about their day trip to Clarendon Square and they will also receive a stick of rock as a memento.
The holiday club is set to rev up its engines on August 22 and take to the skies, where event-goers have the chance to get kitted out and become pilots, cabin and ground crew. There will be paper planes to make and pedal ones to play on too!
The activities will come to a close on August 29 with a Lego block party, which will allow guests to have heaps of fun creating their own personalised, cut-out Lego character. Look out for themed trails around the centre each week, with clues hidden in retailer windows.
Sophie Stephenson, centre manager at Clarendon Square, expects the club to be very popular: “Hyde Holiday Club offers a great way for children and their families to have lots of laughs and enjoyment together this summer.
“We appreciate that it can be a little tricky to keep the little ones entertained throughout the holidays, but all our activities are free and there’s plenty to get involved in.
“We’re excited for the club doors to open and we hope our visitors have many brilliant days out with us.”
