HYDE pupils are toasting exam success after a record number picked up their GCSE results.
At Alder Community High School, girls Cora Bowers and Mia Rushworth were the top performing women.
Both achieved an incredible six Grade Nines each with Grade Eights in the rest of their subjects!
The top performing boys were Ben Hobbs and Victor Allott, who both had an equally impressive set of outstanding grades.
However, Victor will have to wait to find out what he got as he is currently up a mountainside as part of his Duke of Edinburgh expedition.
His mother collected his results on his behalf along with younger brother Vernon, who was also collecting his results for a GCSE he has taken in Year Nine!
It was triple success and smiles all round as triplets Aaron, Callum and Jack Armitage picked up their GCSE results.
The brothers achieved an amazing 30 Grades Nine to Four between them and are all destined for a place at college.
Headteacher Richard O’Regan was quick to praise all the students’ efforts.
He said: “Our students have worked incredibly hard to achieve these results.
“There are many examples of outstanding individual performances and some students have been genuinely shocked by how well they have done.
“Our headline figures – 76 per cent Grade Four and above in English and maths – are way above national average but, more importantly, all of our students are able to progress to next stage in their education and training.
“I would like to congratulate our students on excellent results and once again thank you to all our staff for preparing the students so well for these new, harder GCSEs.”
