A SPATE of break-ins at Adnan’s Indian Restaurant & Takeaway will impact other businesses in Hyde, says the owner.Manager Mohammed Mizan claims it will result in increased insurance premiums for other traders.
“Our insurance has gone up 35 per cent in the last two years. It is difficult and stressful for small businesses like ours,” he said.
The latest break in, the fourth in the last four years, was at 5.51am on Wednesday, October 9 and was captured on the CCTV at Adnan’s.
Entry was gained by smashing the front door of the Market Street eaterie with a charity box containing about £95 stolen and also approximately £25 from the till.
Mizan said: “I am disappointing and shocked that nobody has ever been caught for any of the break-ins.
“We have some very good images this time of the people who broke in and are waiting to hand them over to the police.”
Following the latest burglary, Adnan’s has installed an even more elaborate security system at a cost of more than £1,000.
It is linked directly to a security firm which will inform the police as soon as an intruder enters the premises as well as triggering a devise which will immediately fill the restaurant with choking smoke.
