A CHRISTMAS card designed by an eight-year-old Hyde girl will be admired by thousands.
Isla Spragg, a pupil at Bradley Green Primary Academy, had the winning design in a competition open to all Hyde schools and which was organised by Hyde Rotary community chairman Kevin Maddox.
Rotary have had Isla’s striking picture of Hyde Town Hall printed on its 2,500 cards handed out by Father Christmas at every home he visits on his annual sleigh ride around the streets of Hyde.
Isla, who drew the town hall before colouring it, was treated to a meal with Rotary members and also received a congratulatory certificate.
The challenge was open to local primary schools in Hyde was to draw a landmark in the town depicting a Christmas scene.
Isla’s mother Louisa said: “Isla was thrilled when she found out she had won the competition. We are so proud of her.
“The Rotary Club was generous, inviting her for a meal and presenting her with a certificate.
“She always looks forward to seeing Father Christmas and the Rotary club come by our street every year. I think this year will be even more special.”
