WERNETH Low Golf Club has begun a winter major programme to reshape all the bunkers on its course.
It is a project which will be overseen by head greenkeeper Scott Kellard.
Professional Jamie Tipper explained when the course was constructed bunkers were basic.
He said: “This winter our main work will be to reshape and renovate all bunkers and add a couple to enhance the playability and aesthetics of the golf course.
“It will involve sculpting and shaping them as well as making them deeper to enhance the golf course.
“We will also be adding a few paths and doing drainage work around the wetter areas of the course.”
The club held its annual meeting on Monday, December 2 when Darren Leigh became the new captain, Iain White captain, Paul Adshead president and Gary Hollingworth vice president.
