Hyde man jailed for string of thefts

A HYDE man has been jailed for a string of thefts in Hyde.

Christopher Rowles of no fixed abode was handed a 10-week custodial sentence at Tameside Magistrates Court on January 16, 2020 after he pleaded guilty to 11 counts of theft.

An investigation was launched by Newton Neighbourhood policing team based on intelligence regarding Rowles’ criminal activity in the area.

Rowles was also handed a two-year restraining order preventing him from entering a number of shops in the Hyde area including McColls on Ashton Road and Co-op, Talbot Road.
