IT has been a whirlwind month since our first copies of the new Hyde and Denton Correspondent newspapers hit the streets, writes editor in chief Aimee Belmore.
With five other titles already to our name and a few awards along the way, we like to think we have worked out a successful formula for our free, community product.
But there were still a few butterflies in the stomach as we set up out stall at Hyde Market, ready to hand out our new papers.
We need not have worried – a few hours later and hundreds of papers lighter, the response was an overwhelmingly positive one from members of the public.
And over the four weeks since then, comments and feedback has been flooding in via our emails, website and social media with readers welcoming and praising the papers.
It is a pleasure and privilege to be able to work with local groups, organisations, schools, politicians, charities, businesses, sports clubs and the rest of the community to put together a product that means so much to the community.
Our aim is to celebrate your successes, highlight your achievements, and champion your concerns and campaigns.
So please send us your stories and details of your events for us to include in the newspapers and get right to the heart of the community every month.
